My Beginnings as a Family Photographer
I took these photos several years ago, before I started my business, but I never shared them till now. Perhaps it’s because they are from a mentoring session with a seasoned family photographer and I felt that I was lacking. Every time I looked at them, all I saw was the mistakes I had made. Yet, these images that have room for technical improvement are full of the most important elements; love and laughter.
Perfection is overrated
Aiming for perfection in everything I do will prevent me from accomplishing anything. So will being too hard on myself, especially when I’m learning something new. I have come to realize that nothing in life is without its hiccups. In fact, those are the moments that count! They are also the most memorable.
As a family photographer, my job is about more than pretty pictures. It’s about emotion. It’s about little people expressing themselves in a big world. It’s about family. I have the best job in the world!
