The moments that matter most don’t wait for everything to come together.

Being a mom of four has shaped the way I see families—the energy, the personalities, the way they interact, and the moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Family photos aren’t about getting everything right. They’re about feeling seen, included, and comfortable just as you are.

When I photograph families, I’m not looking for everything to line up perfectly. I’m paying attention to what’s already there—and guiding gently so those moments have space to show up.

It’s not just about the photos

I’m a mom of four boys—three grown, one teen—and I’ve spent years watching how quickly the seasons of family life come and go. I’ve come to see how much it matters to simply show up for one another. Not just in the big, obvious moments but in the quieter ones too.

I also know what it feels like to second-guess myself when things get hard—and to stress about family photos. I’ve been in the place of trying to get everyone ready, hoping it all comes together, and wondering how it’s actually going to go.

I treasure the photos we have. Some feel like a lifetime ago, and I’m planning for more—even though it’s a little harder now that we aren’t all under one roof. Because family photos aren’t just reminders of how things looked. They’re about what it felt like to be there, together.

And when you’re in the middle of raising a family, they become daily reminders that what you’re doing matters—and that you’re doing better than you think, even when things feel a bit messy.

I don’t expect your family to perform

I’m not looking for everything to line up perfectly, or for everyone to be “on” the entire time.

What I’m paying attention to is what’s already there—the way you interact, the way your kids move in and out of your space, the moments that happen when no one is trying to get it right.

That’s where your family shows up.

And that’s what I want to capture.

You don’t have to know what to do

You don’t need to come in with a plan or worry about doing things “right.”

I’ll guide you in a way that feels natural—offering direction when you need it and giving you space when you don’t.

If your kids want to move, we’ll work with that.
If things feel a little chaotic for a moment, that’s okay too.

I’m paying attention the whole time—adjusting, simplifying, and gently guiding so it never feels forced or overwhelming.

You don’t need everything to go off without a hitch.

You just get to be with your family—I’ll guide things from there.

It doesn’t feel awkward for long

You start out a little unsure. And then, somewhere along the way, you forget about the camera.

Your kids settle into their rhythm. You fall into yours.

There’s laughter, some spontaneity, and quiet moments that don’t last long but somehow they’re enough.

And when it’s over, it doesn’t feel like something you had to get through.
It just feels like fun you had together.

“I wasn’t sure what to expect—organizing the location, outfits, and timing felt a little overwhelming at first. But Theresa made everything so easy and fun. I loved having our entire family together, and it turned out to be such a meaningful experience.”
