The Gyorffy’s Family Session in Boulder

Raegan, I’m so glad you asked for a quiet spot for your session. It made all the difference. The low foot traffic helped everyone feel at ease—and let’s be honest, it’s much nicer to be photographed in a space where nobody’s watching. I know your family doesn’t love the spotlight, but once we got going, you guys made it so easy to capture the kind of moments that matter most.

This session wasn’t just about photos—it was a celebration. Ten years since Zeke and Leona officially became part of your family. A full decade of growing together, showing up for each other, and building something steady and strong. I love the photo of Zeke and Leona—who knew such a simple posing prompt would result in so much laughter.

I still laugh thinking about he-who-shall-not-be-thrown-under-the-bus prancing around like a ballerina behind me while I was photographing one of the kids. Or when I had you and Mike step back to share a kiss—just to “gross out” the kids—and you couldn’t stop giggling. Max’s reaction with his hands clasped on his head is priceless.

Your family is wonderful—so easy to work with, up for anything, and clearly close with one another. The energy was calm but playful, which fits your family perfectly. There’s a quiet confidence in the way you all interact. You’ve built something strong and loving—it’s fantastic.

We ended the session on a high note (pun intended). The jumping shot might have taken a few tries (I think the “six people in the air at once” part gave us a run for our money), but the results speak for themselves.

As the seasons shift and Mallaney steps into the next stage, I hope these photos serve as a joyful reminder of everything that brought your family to this point. They’re a celebration of how far you’ve come—and a glimpse of what still lies ahead.

Thank you for inviting me to be part of these milestones. I’ve loved getting to know your family through martial arts over the last few years, and it was fun to see familiar faces in front of my camera. It was an absolute pleasure—enjoy your photos! xo, Theresa
