The Mallett Family
Abby, I got so excited when you booked a mini session for your family at McKay Lake because I was dying to see how much the girls have grown in the 18 months since Lexi’s newborn session.
They are both cuter than ever and Emmie’s pixie cut suits her to a T. She looks at her sister with the same love in her eyes that I remember from her newborn session. I can still picture her sitting on your bed with Lexi cradled in her lap. Such a sweet memory.
It’s hard for me to choose just one special moment from your session. The one that keeps coming to mind took place at the very end. Lexi had had enough at that point. She was hugging her baby to her chest, fat tear or two on her cheek. Then, she turned to face her sister and their eyes met and held. And even though neither made a sound, I swear a message passed between them. Now that’s what I call love.
I haven’t met a family yet who didn’t want at least one photo of everyone smiling at the camera. But those aren’t usually the photos that become the favorites. That honor almost always goes to an unscripted moment, caught in between. As a mom, those are the moments I treasure the most. I’m delighted to say there are plenty of those coming your way.
It warms my heart to think that your girls are able to look at these photos today, tomorrow or ten years from now, and know that they were loved from the start.
Here are just a handful of my favorite photos from your family’s mini session at McKay Lake. Enjoy!
xo, Theresa
