Jacque, it was so much fun to get updated photos of you and Justin with the boys. Can you believe we’ve been doing this for 3 years already? Jakob, Wyatt and Zakary have grown so much since we first met.
Their personalities haven’t changed much. Speaking of, isn’t it fascinating how different siblings can be?
Jakob plays it cool. Wyatt thrives on being silly. And Zakary? He’s feisty and fast! If only there was a way to harness some of his energy for ourselves. Can you imagine all we could accomplish in a day?!
My favorite moment that took place during your session started out as a bit of a blooper.
I had asked Jakob if he could give Wyatt a piggyback. As soon as his brother was up, he began to buckle under the weight. I thought, “Oops, that’s not going to work.” But Jakob had committed. “Take the picture!” he said. I don’t think I’ve ever hustled so fast to get in place for a shot, and I’m delighted I did.
My miscalculation resulted in a fun, playful moment— “chaos theory” at its best.
When you look back on these moments in 5, 10, 15 years, they’ll be even more precious than they are today.
Especially the photo of Zakary sprawled, laughing, across everyone’s laps. As a fellow mom of boys with a similar photo (except I’m the one sprawled), I’ve learned that you’ve just to either go with the flow or do something unexpected to get the shot. And boy, is it worth it—pun intended.
Working with families like yours, to capture happy memories, is why I love what I do. I can’t wait till we do it again!
