The Carter’s Fall Mini Session at Thomas Reservoir

The Carter Family

A mother and father cuddle their young daughter and new baby as they smile at the camera during their fall mini session at Thomas Reservoir

Motherhood suits you, Nicole! You have a special glow that I don’t remember seeing back when we did kickboxing together, all those years ago.

An hour was a long way for your family to travel for your fall mini session, especially with a two-month-old baby. But the moments that we captured are proof that it was well worth the effort!

Speaking of… congratulations to you and Drew on the birth of your daughter. Avery is blessed to have parents (and a big sister) who obviously love and adore her. She is sweet and gently. And so tiny.

Three of my boys are taller than me and have been for longer than I care to remember. When I look up at them now, it’s hard to believe that they started out the same size as Avery.

While we might one day need photos to remind ourselves of how little our babies once were, I don’t think we ever forget what it feels like to cradle a baby in our arms. To look down into a perfect little face. To feel so much tenderness in your heart. More joy than you ever imagined was possible.

Izzy and Avery might not remember these exact moments down the road but when they look at these photos, they’ll know that they are–and always have been–loved.

It was a treat to see you again and meet your husband, Drew, and your little girls. Izzy and Avery are too precious for words. I hope it isn’t so long before I see you all again.

Enjoy your family and your photos. Here are just a few of my favorite moments from your family mini session at Thomas Reservoir.
