Horse Show Fox Hill Equestrian Center

Uniform? Check. Clean tack? Check. Nervous? Check check.

Butterflies. In her stomach. Her nerves were shot. So were her mother’s. It was a big day for Chloe. She was competing in her first official horse show at Fox Hill Equestrian Center. She looked professional dressed in her riding pants and jacket, hair braided and tied with a green bow. Wesley, her horse, would look good too. He’d had a good brush down the night before. His tack was clean and waiting for his arrival. After one more brush down, he’d be saddled and the pair would be ready to go.

All three riders from Carpe Diem Equestrian competing in the horse show had family there to support them. Chloe had her mom, big brother, little sister, grandmother, and grandfather cheering her on from the sidelines. When I was young, I took for granted that my mother was always there for me. I’ve been fortunate in that I’ve always been able to be there for my boys. Not everyone has that so it was beautiful to see.

Horse shows are a world of their own

Hats off to you, Chloe! It was obvious how hard you’ve been training. All those ribbons you won prove it! You kept Wesley at a constant gait throughout each course. And, you remembered the order of the course for each of your trips. All four of them. You and Wesley make a great team! It was exciting to get a glimpse into your world by watching you compete in your first official horse show at Fox Hill Equestrian Center. I look forward to seeing more! Well done and congratulations! xo, Theresa
